GENERAL INFORMATION
This is the third meeting of COST Action TD0901. When oxygen availability is reduced, inherent physiologic responses are initiated through both cellular as well as systemic mechanisms. Hypoxia plays a crucial role in almost all acute and chronic diseases including, but not limited to, kidney and liver diseases, pulmonary hypertension, most forms of cardiovascular disease including atherosclerosis, stroke, ischemic diseases, retinal degeneration, wound healing, several pathologies of the CNS, inflammation, transplantation, acute or chronic mountain sickness and - last but not least- tumorigenesis. OXYGEN 2011 brings together basic researchers working in the field of molecular hypoxia with their colleagues examining the hypoxic response in human volunteers and patients. ACOMMODATION The congress starts Saturday, January 8 in the late afternoon and ends Wednesday January 12, at noon (with assemblies). For discount hotel accomodation please click here. It might be cheaper to rent an appartment despite the fact that appartments are usually rented on a weekly basis. Thus, enjoy two additional days on the skiing slopes! Note that we cannot provide discounts on appartament rentals:
